Marketing Assistant

Position Description:

 

MoGo is Detroit’s non-profit public bike share system, with 480 bikes located at 44 stations in 10 neighborhoods. Designed to serve a wide range of people and needs, MoGo’s vision is to provide best-in-class value and service while serving as a catalyst in making Detroit a leader in mobility. In 2020, MoGo will expand its system, adding 31 stations to NW Detroit, Ferndale, Royal Oak, Oak Park, Berkley, and Huntington Woods. 


MoGo is seeking a high energy, self-starter with excellent communication skills to join our team as a Marketing Assistant. The Marketing Assistant works with the Director of Marketing and Community Outreach to share information about MoGo through a variety of media and occasionally represent MoGo at community meetings, special events, and other activities. This is a part-time position, offering approximately 15 hours per week, with weekday, evening, and weekend shifts available. 

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications Outreach to create and implement campaigns
  • Monitor web-based analytics and identify viable ideas
  • Create engaging blog and social media content 
  • Manage social media and web platforms
  • Represent MoGo at weekday, evening, and weekend outreach events
  • Assist in reaching MoGo’s ridership and equity goals
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills Required:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and other social media platforms 
  • Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and/or Illustrator (graphic design skills are a plus)
  • Microsoft and Google office suites 
  • Outgoing and energetic
  • Possess a passion for bicycling, urban mobility and improving the quality of life in Detroit
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
