MoGo, Detroit’s premier non-profit bikeshare organization, is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. This exciting collaboration aims to promote cultural engagement, encourage sustainable transportation, and enhance the accessibility of Detroit’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
“We have incredible institutions in Detroit, and The Wright is an exceptional example of world-leading education,” said Adriel Thornton, MoGo’s Executive Director. “Through this partnership with the Charles H. Wright Museum, we are not only creating a new opportunity to promote the benefits of biking; we are also supporting the important mission of exploring and celebrating the rich cultural legacy of African Americans.”
Through this innovative collaboration, MoGo and the Charles H. Wright Museum will create a unique, bike-friendly experience for visitors exploring the museum’s extensive collections and exhibits.
The partnership will be centered around benefits to members through MoGo’s addition to The Wright Museum’s member Black Card. MoGo will offer 25% off Annual Passes and 50% off Monthly Passes, providing bikeable access to the museum, in addition to the various benefits that MoGo members receive. Most significantly, MoGo will work with The Wright to develop and lead a bike ride focused on fostering a deeper understanding of Black History in Detroit, while promoting healthy, eco-friendly transportation options.
“We are excited to partner with MoGo to enhance our community’s engagement with Detroit’s rich history while promoting sustainable transportation,” said Cedric Scott, Director of Corporate Partnerships and Member Services at The Wright Museum. “This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to make cultural experiences more accessible and impactful for everyone.”
This partnership marks a new chapter in the shared vision of MoGo and the Charles H. Wright Museum to foster a more connected, informed, and sustainable Detroit.
