Get a $3.20 Monthly Pass In Honor of Detroit’s 320th Birthday!

MoGo Rider crosses Brush Street with Renaissance Center in the background.

In honor of Detroit’s 320th birthday, MoGo will be offering Monthly Passes for $3.20 – that’s an 84% off discount! Get a pass through the Transit app or on our website anytime between Friday, July 23rd, and Sunday, July 25th. If you need to pay with cash, visit this page.

With the Monthly Pass, riders get an unlimited number of 60-minute trips for 30 days. Remember to dock your bike at least once every 60 minutes; for trips that extend beyond 60 minutes, users pay $0.25 per minute until the bike is locked at a MoGo station. Once your bike has been locked and taken back out, your time resets. All trips must end with your bike locked securely in a station.

Once you have your pass, you’ll be ready to ride! Until you receive your MoGo card or key fob in the mail, use the Transit app to unlock your bike. Once downloaded, the Transit app will be connected to your account and can help you get a bike from any station.

Not sure where to ride? Try visiting any of our 40 Rider Perks partners, each of which offers a special discount just for MoGo riders! Show your card, key fob, or Transit app screen to get whatever discount that location is offering. If you’re not looking for a destination, try one of our Featured Rides! Using TOTAGO, either online or in the app, search ‘MoGo’ for rides that take you along the Riverwalk, connect you to Eastern Market, and more!

Or, take a look at our system map and decide what destination is best for you. MoGo has stations in the Museum District, both at the Detroit Historical Museum and at the DIA, near landmarks like Michigan Central Station, and dozens more.

Looking for more ways to celebrate Detroit’s 320th birthday? MoGo to the Detroit Historical Museum for a special event with Mickey Lolich (member of the Tigers 1968 World Series team), or bike over to Beacon Park for a Family Fun Day. Keep an eye on the news throughout the rest of the week as more events pop up – chances are, you can MoGo to those too!

Happy Birthday, Detroit!

What Pass Should You Get?

MoGo riders are always first on our mind, which is why our pass and pricing structure is designed to be accessible, affordable, and enjoyable for you, no matter how you want to ride. This guide will help you figure out which pass is best for you before you plan your next trip! Tip: download the Transit app to get started!

Pay As You Go Pass

Price: $1 to unlock, then $0.25 per minute

Best Use: Quick, station-to-station trips

The Pay As You Go pass is designed to help you get from point A to point B, inexpensively. Quick trips are bests; a 10-minute trip will cost you $3.50, while a 60-minute trip will cost you $16. Either price is cheaper than all scooter companies, but if your ride is going to be longer than 45 minutes, you’re probably better off with the Prepaid Pass, which we’ll talk about next!

Prepaid Pass

Price: $18 for 2 hours of ride time ($0.25 per minute after 120 minutes)

Best Use: Casual, leisure, or cruising rides, or any ride longer than 45 minutes.

The Prepaid pass is like prepaid cell phone plans: once you purchase a pass, your minutes last until you use them all! That means you can ride for 30 minutes today, and 90 minutes next year on the same pass, or any variation in between! Your time will always pause when you return your bike to a station. It’s also great for taking a more casual ride, traveling a longer distance, or trying one of our Featured Rides. We highly recommend this pass for longer rides – 2 hours on the Pay As You Go pass will cost you $31 – don’t break the bank when you don’t have to! That said, if you think you’re going to take multiple 60-minute rides in a month, you might want to upgrade to our Monthly Pass for just $2 more… that’s next.

Monthly Pass

Price: $20 for 30 days of unlimited 60-minute rides ($0.25 per minute for any ride longer than 60 minutes)

Best Use: Membership makes everything easier, and provides 24/7/365 access to MoGo bikes!

If you like the Prepaid Pass, but want to get more bang for your buck, the Monthly Pass is perfect for you. The Monthly Pass offers unlimited 60-minute rides for an entire month, for just $20! The only thing you’ll ever have to worry about is not surpassing 60 minutes during a ride – find a station, dock your bike, and your time will reset – it’s that easy. When you start getting into the month-to-month pattern, you’ll find that it might get expensive. If you’re thinking you’ll use MoGo more than 3 months out of the year, the Annual Pass is the most cost-effective option for you.

Annual Pass

Price: $90 for 365 days of unlimited 60-minute rides ($0.25 per minute for any ride longer than 60 minutes)

Best Use: Like the Monthly Pass, membership makes everything easier, and provides 24/7/365 access to MoGo bikes!

If you’re a regular bike rider, a commuter, or need last-mile transportation to support bus and other transit trips, then the Annual Pass will serve the greatest value to you. Just like the Monthly Pass, the only thing you’ll ever have to worry about is not surpassing 60 minutes during a ride, which is easily avoidable: find a station and dock your bike, and the ride time will reset!

For individuals that receive certain state benefits, you may qualify for our Access Pass, which is an Annual Pass for $5 instead of $90.

If you don’t think that these pass types work for you, or you’re just interested in giving MoGo a try, keep an eye out for our Free Ride Days. Free Ride Days happen on the third Thursday of every month through October – check this page out for more details!

As always, feel free to reach out to us on social media, over the phone, or in an email. Happy riding!

Rider Perks: Drawn to Detroit

Drawn to Detroit is a collection of freehand drawings created by Detroiter Leah Carroll. Inspired by the city and its history, beauty, charm, and tradition, Leah started Drawn to Detroit as the result of an assignment from her graduate program at Wayne State University.

Drawn to Detroit is a way to explore the city and give reverence to its landmarks, hot spots, and iconic, must-visit places! Each drawing is created either in real time while viewing the building, or by working from a photograph taken of the structure in its current state. Through her art, Leah strives to show the reasons so many people are “drawn” from near and far to visit the comeback city and witness its renaissance!

MoGo riders can use the code MOGO15 to save 15% on their purchase. BONUS: Get 20% off by sharing a picture of yourself riding a MoGo near a part of the Detroit that you’re drawn to, and tagging both @MoGoDetroit and @DrawnToDetroit.
