Neighborhood Ambassador Spotlight: Sarosh Irani

Our featured Ambassador this week is Sarosh Irani, a Wayne State University student who represents MoGo in the Warriors’ community and throughout Midtown. Sarosh lives on campus and doesn’t own a car, so he uses MoGo, DDOT, the QLine, and his feet to get around the city. In addition to being a full-time student and an Ambassador for MoGo, Sarosh is part of several student organizations and has donated hundreds of volunteer hours.

Mighty MoGo Rider Challenge Week 2 Results!

Week 2 of the Mighty MoGo Rider Challenge is complete! There were several changes to the Top 10 this week. Remember, only the Top 5 will win a prize and only one will be named the Mighty MoGo Rider! Here are the current standings:

 

Standings are shown based on your MoGo key number. Find your key number by looking for the 7-digit number below the barcode on the back of your MoGo key card.

MoGo Move Alert: Station Update

Occasionally, our station locations are readjusted to accommodate, well, the real life happenings in a city. Here is a list of stations that have recently been moved:

 

1.  2nd Ave. and Prentis: Due to street resurfacing on 2nd Avenue, the Prentis St. station is now located in the laundromat/Hookah Bar parking lot on 2nd, just a few feet from its original location.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. 2nd Ave. and Selden: Due to street resurfacing on 2nd Avenue, the Selden St. station is now on the NW corner of Selden at 2nd, across Selden from its original location.

4. Capitol Park (Griswold and State St.): The station at Griswold and State St is now located IN Capitol Park, NE of its original location. It is now closer to Grand River.

Mighty MoGo Challenge Week 1 Results!

Neighborhood Ambassador Spotlight: Tyra Wright

MoGo Neighborhood Ambassador Spotlight! Each week, we’ll highlight one of our 14 MoGo Ambassadors – a group of community-oriented individuals who are teaching people in their neighborhoods about MoGo. This week, we’d like to introduce you to Tyra Wright, one of three Ambassadors in New Center. Tyra has worked in New Center for the past 10 years, but is familiar with many Detroit neighborhoods. Mighty MoGo Rider Challenge Is Happening Now!

What is the Mighty MoGo Rider Challenge?

 

The Mighty MoGo Rider Challenge is a month-long campaign to find and honor our most avid MoGo users. The challenge is simple: MoGo as many times as you can between Saturday, July 1st and Monday, July 31st to potentially be crowned the Mighty MoGo Rider! The top five people with the most trips logged by the end of the month will win some awesome prizes (see below)!

 

Challenge Rules

  • You must have a Monthly, Annual, or Access pass to be eligible for the Mighty MoGo Rider Challenge. You do not have to register to participate.
  • A trip is defined as any ride that is longer than 2 minutes in duration (sorry, checking a bike in and out of a dock won’t help pad your stats).
  • Top 5 standings will be posted on social media and our MoGo blog every Monday starting July 10th. Standings will be posted by MoGo Key ID number* to protect your privacy. Your individual Key ID can be found on the back of your MoGo Key Card just below the barcode (example below).

 

 

Win Bonus Trips!

  • Share a picture of your MoGo ride with us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. With each picture you share, you’ll receive 1 additional trip added to your final total. Just tag us @MoGoDetroit and use the hashtag #MightyMoGo. Feel free to share as many pictures as you’d like!

MoGo Pro Tip: Green Light = Locked Bike!

When locking your MoGo into the dock, wait until you see the green light on the dock! That’s when you know you’re bike is secure and your trip has ended. If you don’t see the green light, take your bike out and reenter it into the dock. Check the video below to see what we mean!

Sponsored by Henry Ford Health System and Health Alliance Plan, MoGo celebrates launch with community ride out

May 23, 2017 (DETROIT) – MoGo, Detroit Bike Share, an affiliate of the Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP), in collaboration with the City of Detroit, Henry Ford Health System and Health Alliance Plan (HAP), launched its service today, marking the start of operations for Detroit’s first-ever public bike share system.

“After five years of hard work, we’re thrilled to begin our operations in ten Detroit neighborhoods, providing yet another option for Detroiters to get where they need to go,” said Lisa Nuszkowski, executive director, MoGo. “It’s an exciting time for mobility in the city, and we’re proud to launch a system designed to serve a diverse range of people and needs.”

MoGo, Detroit Bike Share, has 430 bikes at 43 stations located in New Center, North End, Woodbridge, Corktown, Southwest Detroit, Eastern Market, Lafayette Park, West Village, Midtown and Downtown. To celebrate the launch, the MoGo team held a ride with members of the community to ride the state-of-the-art MoGo bikes to stations throughout the city.

“We are very excited to welcome MoGo as a part of the growing number of ways to get around Detroit. The City supports MoGo’s commitment to providing bike share to all of Detroit’s residents,” said Mayor Mike Duggan, City of Detroit.

Pass Information

MoGo offers several pass and pricing options to meet a variety of needs:

• The Daily Pass runs $8 per day and includes an unlimited number of 30-
minute trips for 24 hours.

• The Monthly Pass costs $18 per month and riders receive an unlimited
number of 30-minute trips for the entire month.

• The $80-per-year Annual Pass gives riders the option to pay $80 up front
or $8 per month, and offers an unlimited number of 30-minute trips for the
full year. A special discount is available for people 65 years and older.

• The Access Pass, for qualifying riders, costs $5 for the year and offers an
unlimited number of 30-minute rides.

• The Founders Pass includes an Annual Pass, plus limited-   edition MoGo gear and other benefits for $100.

MoGo also offers a Corporate and Community Pass Program, which will provide organizations of all sizes the opportunity to purchase discounted passes for their staff.
