Station Spotlight: 9 Mile and Manistee

If you’re riding along 9 Mile through Oak Park, you’re in for a treat. Not only is there a great bike path that runs along the south side of the street; there’s also a MoGo station at 9 Mile and Manistee, right near the east end of the trail!

The 9 Mile and Manistee station stands along a biker’s dream: you’ve got bike lanes on the street to ride on, or you can ride along the bike trail. Where else do you have options like that?! The trail also runs past a few pocket parks, including the trail-head, where you can stop and take in some fresh air.

If you’re looking to take a ride through Oak Park or Ferndale, the 9 Mile and Manistee station is a great place to start. You can head west on 9 Mile to Coolidge, which will connect you to the Oak Park Blvd station, take you further north to Lincoln and Coolidge, or even all the way to Berkley! Heading east, there are three different Ferndale stations within a 10 minute ride. Plus, we’ve got Rider Perks partners within walking distance of 2 of those 3 stations.

Whether you’re looking to shop, visit another city, or experience the smooth ride of a freshly-paved bike path, the 9 Mile and Manistee station is a great place to begin! Get out and ride!

Station Spotlight: Main and Gardenia

You already know that downtown Royal Oak is a great place to ride a MoGo, but did you know that there are MoGo stations outside of the downtown core? If you didn’t, try this one first: the Main and Gardenia station.

The Main and Gardenia station is a great starting point for a ride, especially for those who choose to park and ride. By parking near and starting at the Main and Gardenia station, you’ll be giving yourself more distance to ride (better cardio), and you’ll likely have an easier time finding a parking spot than downtown (but we can’t guarantee it).

Across the street from the station is Bread by Crispelli’s, which has an incredible assortment of bread and pastries. If you love eating at Crispelli’s restaurants, you’ll love this place – it’s basically where the process begins for all doughs and breads.

Next to the station is also Royal Pup Parlor, a dog groomer, where your pet is treated like royalty!

If you’re looking to play some pool, sing karaoke, or just want some good eats, try The Inn Place Bar and Grill, which is about a block away from the station!

All this, and you haven’t even started your ride yet. Once you head south on Main, there’s no telling what you’ll find. Take a ride through Royal Oak today!

Station Spotlight: Huntington Woods Rec Center

The station located at the Huntington Woods Rec Center is special for a few reasons:

        1. It’s Huntington Woods’ only station
        2. It’s located in the center of Huntington Woods, providing easy access to the entire city
        3. It only takes a few minutes to ride to Berkley, Royal Oak, Oak Park, and Ferndale, giving Huntington Woods the best access to 5 of the 6 expansion areas

In short, the Huntington Woods Rec Center station is the best place to start a ride. You can try the Pay As You Go pass and ride around all of Huntington Woods, or you can try the Prepaid pass and explore beyond the 1.5 square-mile city. Before or after, stop by the library, the rec center, or any of Huntington Woods lovely parks, all located right by MoGo’s station.

Taking a MoGo gives you the chance to find the nooks and crannies in your own neighborhood that you may never have seen while walking, and explore parts of other communities that you may not otherwise see.

Your next adventure awaits you. Get a pass, hop on a MoGo, and begin exploring today!

Station Spotlight: 9 Mile and Woodward

Looking for a night on the town? You’re in luck! We’ve got a station right near the center of Downtown Ferndale, on the southwest corner of Woodward and 9 Mile.

Of the dozens of things to do along the strip, here’s just a few:

Stop at Como’s for a bite to eat and a drink on the patio.

Try Detroit Bubble Tea, especially if you’ve never had bubble tea before. You won’t regret it!

Head across the street from the station to Rust Belt Market and see over 40 independently owned and operated small businesses including artists, vintage, and designers sharing their best work.

Java Hutt is right down the street and is full of hot drinks, cold drinks, savory sandwiches, and sweet pastries.

You can also stop by the Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop, one of our Rider Perks partners! Show your MoGo receipt, card, or key fob, and get 15% off any Downtown Detroit Bike Shop accessories!

We know what you’re thinking, and yes, we did only scratch the surface of what the 9 Mile and Woodward station (and Downtown Ferndale) have to offer. The best way to explore the rest? Go for a ride!

Station Spotlight: Grove St and Prairie St

The Grove and Prairie station is a great station to start a ride. Why? Because starting at Ella Fitzgerald Park gives you great access to the best types of bike rides.

You can head over to Livernois and connect yourself to a network of stations from the University District all the way up to The Avenue of Fashion. You won’t be able to pedal once without coming across a coffee shop, bakery, retail shop, salon, or restaurant that makes you want to step inside. Just south of 7 Mile is the Livernois and Clarita station, which we’ve highlighted before. Head north on Livernois and you’ll find two more stations before you reach 8 Mile.

If you’re looking for a quieter ride, hook a right at McNichols and roll over to Palmer Park. The Palmer Park Farmers Market happens every Wednesday from 4:30pm to 7:30pm if you’re looking for healthy foods or sweet treats. We’ve also put together a series of rides through parks, and the Beginner ride takes you on a Palmer Park loop.

Think you have a better idea of where to go? Be our guest. Just make sure that your ride ends at a station in our system, and be sure to dock your bike within each 60 minute period of your ride.

Station Spotlight: Robina and 12 Mile

Here’s something you probably didn’t know: Berkley has 2 different downtown strips! Pretty cool, right? What if we told you that MoGo has a station along both of those strips? Insane. This station spotlight highlights the Robina and 12 Mile station, which runs along the 12 Mile strip of downtown Berkley.

What’s there to do? Only a little bit of everything.

Here’s a day’s worth of activities for the 12 Mile and Robina station: start with some pilates at Reforming Foundations Pilates & Wellness, then head to The Lunch Cafe for a post-workout meal. Spend the afternoon browsing the enormously unique collections at Catching Fireflies and Time Travelers Comics, Card, & Collectibles, and round out the day with a visit to a Michigan-inspired food scene at Berkley Common. If you feel like you’ve got gas left in the tank, head to 24 Seconds Bar & Grill to share some drinks at their rooftop bar and catch a ball game.

Great day, right? Finish it off by hopping onto a MoGo and taking a short ride to Berkley’s other downtown, the Huntington Woods Recreation Center, or Oak Park’s network of MoGo stations, all within a 10 minute ride.

Happy riding!

Station Spotlight: Grand Circus Park

The Grand Circus Park station sits on the west side of Woodward right at Park Ave., at Grand Circus Park. What’s special about this station? Other than the fact that there’s fantastic food, drinks, entertainment, and outdoor space with quick access to the downtown core? Actually, that says it all.

Just north of the park you’ll find The Royce, a great venue over 500 wines, and curated dishes to go with it. Take a trip next door to the Rusted Crow for crafted cocktails, beer, and American bar eats, in a fantastic rustic decor.

If you’re looking for an evening walk, head up towards the Fox Theatre and Fillmore. The pedestrian walkway on Columbia St  is home to Rush Bowls, which has all of the healthy options you can ask for, and Frita Batidos, which has delicious Cuban-inspired street food.

Just south of the park is a true Detroit classic, Buddy’s Pizza, and around the corner is Ashe Supply Co., a motorcycle-themed cafe.

If you’re missing Tigers baseball this summer, head over to Tin Roof and listen to the sounds of the stadium across the street. You can try peaking through the fence – we hear there are some good views of the field!

Grand Circus Park is also a great place to start a bike ride, with access to MoGo stations in every direction – all with their own businesses, restaurants, and other attractions nearby!
